Description
D7 – Feasibility Study – Extension and Elevation of an Exceptional Building in Paris The project involves the elevation and extension of a remarkable building in a prestigious Parisian neighborhood. Objective: to combine heritage enhancement with the creation of new residential and activity spaces, in a sustainable and innovative approach. Context: historically rich site (Vasserot plans, 19th-century archives), located in a dense and regulated urban fabric, requiring rigorous architectural preservation. Program: Basement & ground floor: common areas and restaurant. Floors 1 to 3: activities and residential units. Floors 4 to 7: residential units only. Elevation respecting the building volume and urban planning rules. Concept: Wellness spiral: vertical organization and circulation. Extensive greening (roofs, facades, walls) providing insulation, thermal and water regulation, biodiversity, and quality of life. Process: regulatory analysis, permit submission, timber prefabrication (floors, walls, structure), on-site assembly, finishes. Conclusion: The study confirms the technical feasibility of a timber-frame elevation, combining heritage respect, ecological innovation, and residential quality. This project illustrates a new approach to urban densification in Paris, combining sustainability, comfort, and architectural enhancement.
